I work in a high-rise office building in which the elevator has walls of glass.
At night, you can see almost the entire city as you make your way down from the top floors.
One evening, after an extremely long and tiresome day, I was waiting for the elevator. I was late and so stressed out that I barely noticed the beautiful woman who seemed to have magically appeared when the doors opened.
I asked her what floor she wanted, and she said the lobby level. As she spoke I realized I had seen her before. She worked in the building, but we had never had a real conversation. We nodded to each other, and I turned toward the front of the car.
