My fiancé has a demanding job and recently went back to graduate school to get his MBA, so he’s always pretty stressed out. What can I do to help him relax?

Date nights just seem to stress him out more, but I still want to spend time with him. — S.G., California

Date night can be a lot of pressure for a guy who’s super busy. The first thing I’d do is let him know you’re going to take over planning date night because he’s got so much else on his mind. The last thing he needs to worry about right now is finding a restaurant or activity you’ll both be able to enjoy.

Shoot him an email saying something like, “I know you’re super busy, so I want to make date night easy on you. Which of these movies, restaurants and/or social events would you like to go to in the next month? Pick and I’ll take care of the planning.”

Maybe mix it up with some relaxing options. I live in Los Angeles, and there are a ton of cheap, clean Thai massage parlors. My ex and I used to love getting a Thai massage, grabbing some take-out and snuggling and making love on the couch.

Taking out the guesswork and planning ahead makes everything way less stressful. He’ll appreciate you taking care of it and be a lot less stressed when you’re spending time together.
