My boyfriend and I started out as friends, then we were friends with benefits, and now we’re a couple.
But we’ve never been on a proper date. Is it too late to get on a normal dating track?
It’s never to late to go on a date. In fact, you should never really stop. I’m sure if you were friends first and lovers second, you may have been on a few accidental dates that you haven’t even considered.
A date is nothing more than a shared activity. Have you had meals together? Been to events like barbecues or birthday parties? Enjoyed activities together? Those all count as dates.
If you want to rekindle your dating life in a more official way, make it fun and put effort into something you’ll both like. Studies show that couples who make plans together on a regular basis — like going on dates — are much happier in their relationship.
Cook a meal, see a show, or hop in the car and drive off on a weekend getaway. Just make sure you arrange to have some fun together and I’m sure you’ll be fine.
