This happened about ten years ago, when we were all in our early 20s.

It had been a long night of drinking, and my girlfriend Gina and I had ended up at the apartment my friend Jason shared with his girlfriend Ann, winding up too drunk to drive home. Gina passed out on the sofa, and soon Jason did the same in the bedroom he and Ann shared.
