Six months ago my friend Luke invited me and five other friends of ours to his place to play some cards. However, when we got there, he hadn’t set anything up for cards. He gave us each some drinks, but still left us wondering why we were there.

So we drank our drinks, which Luke kept refilling, and chatted about this and that. After about 20 minutes he got our attention and said we weren’t there to play cards, which got a few laughs. He said he hoped we wouldn’t be disappointed, but the fact was, we were there to help make him and his wife make a fantasy of hers come true.

Luke didn’t say any more than that, but at this point his wife Eileen slipped into the room, looking more than a little nervous.
